CLEANTECH YOUTH COMPETITION
In an effort to grow a new cadre of young climate change-focused citizens who can focus their studies and efforts toward solutions to our world’s most overt threat, Alexios Poyiadjis, a senior at Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School, is launching the CleanTech Youth Competition. The competition, open to all students across the world, aims to unearth the most innovative, creative remedies to address New York State’s most pressing energy and environmental issues.

THE CHALLENGE
Details
High school students across the world can either apply individually, or with a team of students, to bring sustainable solutions to the table.
The Challenge will begin in the Spring of 2022, and winners will be selected in the Summer of 2022 by a team of high-level judges from government and industry across the energy ecosystem.
Winners will receive a cash prize and may be paired up with a foundation or benefactor from either the public or private sector to finance the solution and bring it to market and/or incorporate it into a larger solution.
“I want to help my generation to start thinking about how we can solve our world's environmental problems, instead of sitting on the sidelines. New York State Government has laid the gauntlet for all of us in the state to address this growing threat of climate change that binds our humanity. The state and the world needs our fresh perspective.”
